The basic structure of an asynchronous motor consists of two main parts: the stator and the rotor. When the stator is supplied with alternating current (AC), it creates a rotating magnetic field. This magnetic field induces current in the rotor, causing it to rotate. The speed difference between the rotor and the magnetic field is called slip, which is essential for motor operation.
