WHAT IS A SINGLE-PHASE INDUCTION MOTOR?
Contact: +90 (542) 666 11 11
A single-phase induction motor is an electric motor that operates on single-phase alternating current (AC) and is commonly used in low-power applications. It is ideal for domestic use, light commercial setups, and small industrial machinery. Its simple design, affordability, and low maintenance make it user-friendly and cost-effective.
Technical Definition
A single-phase induction motor consists of two main parts: the stator and the rotor. When AC is applied to the stator, it generates a rotating magnetic field. The rotor interacts with this field and begins to rotate. The term “induction” or “asynchronous” refers to the rotor not rotating at the same speed as the magnetic field (i.e., not synchronous).
