How do I choose the efficiency class (IE3/IE4/IE5)?
Base it on running hours: the more a motor runs, the faster a higher class (IE4/IE5) repays its cost through energy savings. For low-hour duty IE3 is often sufficient.
Cast iron or aluminium body?
Cast iron is preferred for industrial/heavy-duty and crusher/mining applications; aluminium suits smaller, lighter-duty motors.
What does B3 / B5 / B35 mean?
Mounting types: B3 is foot-mounted, B5 is flange-mounted, B35 has both foot and flange.
